Registration to the University

School of Law doctoral student Muthomi Thiankolu was never going to let the coronavirus pandemic stop him from completing his PhD.  On July 21, 2020, he successfully presented his defense to the Board of Examiners panel chaired by School of Law Dean, Prof. Kiarie Mwaura.

This was a first for Justice Oscar Angote!

If it were normal times he would be at the parklands campus for his final end of semester exams-instead he had to write his exams right from his office at the Machakos law courts.

“Although it was exam day, I had never felt so comfortable- I was going to after all sit for my exams in office immediately after I was done with work.” said Justice Angote.

For a few years now, Dr. Collins Odote has been using digital technologies to teach and supervise his postgraduate students.

In response to the widening Coronavirus pandemic, the University of Nairobi has moved face to face classes online.

While communicating to staff and students during closure of the university on March 16, Vice Chancelor, Prof. Stephen Kiama said, “The supervision of postgraduate students and learning of students registered for open and distance learning shall continue to be managed through online platforms.”
