turnitin verification accounts

In a memo sent out to all the University staff, the University's Library services have scheduled a verification process for all turnitin users in the University community. 

The process which was approved by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Prof. Julius Ogeng'o currently requires all supervisors and instructors to complete any pending work before the resetting of  accounts and save the relevant reports that may be required for future reference by January 21, 2021. 

This process is conducted periodically to ensure that the system is not accessed by unauthorized users. The process will involve removal of all supervisors/instructors from the Turnitin system and reset the accounts afresh.

The process is scheduled to end on February 9, 2021. The Ag. Deputy Director, CHSS, Prof. Attiya Waris has requested all staff at the college to comply with the request and accord the library maximum support for efficient service delivery.

Removal of all supervisors/instructors accounts in Turnitin:

  • Extraction and verification of supervisors/instructors’ emails;
  • Removal of all supervisors/instructors accounts from Turnitin system.

22nd – 27th Jan 2021

Supervisors/instructors will not be able to use or access Turnitin accounts/system thereafter.

Verification of supervisors/instructors for fresh registration of Turnitin accounts:

  • Receiving signed lists of verified supervisors/instructors from Deans/Chairs for registration and resetting of accounts in Turnitin

Supervisors are advised not to share their password with any third party. The supervisor/instructor will be accountable of any misuse of their Turnitin account.
