Call for Abstracts: The Role of Literature in Peace Promotion and Conflict Resolution

The conference recognizes literature as a bridge across cultures, a testament to our shared human experience. This conference will delve into the ways literature can be harnessed to promote peace and resolve conflicts, emphasizing its role in bridging divides and nurturing a collective human spirit.
We invite scholars, students, and anyone passionate about the power of literature to submit abstracts for presentations that align with these sub-themes.
- World writers who have championed peace and conflict resolutions
- Peace and conflict resolution in oral literature
- Peace and conflict resolution in drama
- Stand-up comedy and peace-making
- Spoken word poetry and peace-making
- Identity politics and the literature of peace and conflict resolution
- Ubuntu/Utu as a theme in African literature
- Peace and conflict resolution in nonfiction (biographies, autobiographies, and personal essays)
- The treatment of migrants in literature
- The treatment of climate change in literature and how it relates to peace.
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words, formatted in Times New Roman 12-point font, single-spaced. Include a brief biographical statement (150 words maximum) for each author. The deadline for submissions is August 2nd, 2024.
